A big shout out to all depart- ments and our students! What we are witnessing is extraor- dinary. Across departments, and within every classroom, our students are not merely learning—they are rising, dem- onstrating a powerful aptitude that re lects discipline, curi- osity, and purpose. Our teachers and therapists stand at the forefront of this practice, boldly embracing AI within a strengths-based framework. It is exponential. Technology is the mother of all scaffolds, amplifying potential, unlocking cognition, and accelerating productivity in ways we once only imagined. Our students have shaped into avid, agile, intuitive tech learners—harnessing these tools to expand their thinking, deepen their engagement, and rede ine what they are capable of. It gives me great joy to present the irst edition of The Higashi Post, which has been put together by our students with mentor support of Faculty. This is more than a publication. It is a statement ofwhowe are becoming. Dr. Rashmi Das Chairperson Using AI apps with our Daily Life Therapy approach, we support students with autism. These tools aid speech, social skills, and daily routines through visuals and games. AI helps in subjects like Maths with addition and subtraction, phonics to sentence building in language and EVS & General concepts from emotions to healthy habits to the solar sys- tem.We demonstrate AI fromestablishing daily life rhythms to grade-level learning and exam taking. Students create visual art, PPTs on Gamma, and animated videos using voice recordings. Lessons match each child's pace, building con i- dence, calmbehaviour, and joyful participation. AI is helping our students become conceptual learners and identify interdisciplinary opportunities. Ms Gunjan Maheshwari, HoD, Spl Ed Every intervention of our Clinical Department is designed to deliver impact. In Occupational Therapy, activities like model building, visual-motor planning, and coordinated movements enhance problem-solving, spatial awareness, and attention. In Speech Therapy, personal writing tasks help students express thoughts, strengthening language, vocabulary, and sentence formation. Together, these approaches integrate thinking with action and communica- tion. Guided with care and expertise, each child gains con i- dence, joy, and a skillful personality. At Higashi, therapy goes beyond intervention—it is a holistic journey where every achievement empowers children to connect, communicate, and grow independently.
